Plato German Workshop 2026

Description

This workshop is the continuation of a series that aims at bringing together the German astrophysical community in view of preparing the soon-to-be-launched ESA mission PLATO. We will be discussing German scientific contributions and the strategies to adopt at a national level to optimize them.

Registration for this event is closed.

The workshop originally scheduled for 28 & 29 January 2026 has been postponed and will most likely be rescheduled for later this year; however, at this time we are unable to provide any confirmed dates. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Accommodation

The hotels below have rooms on hold for participants at special rates. Please email the hotel directly, quoting the booking code “PLATO German Workshop” to confirm the exact price of the room.

• At the Hotel Monpti we have 10 single/double rooms (99/125 Euros per night incl. breakfast). This arrangement is valid until 27 December, so please make your reservation before that date.
• At the Hotel Anlage we have 1 single room economy (87 Euros per night incl. breakfast), 4 standard single rooms (92 Euros per night incl. breakfast), 3 double rooms for single/double use (118 Euros per night incl. breakfast). This arrangement is valid until 8 January. Free cancellation until 4 December 2025.
• At the Hotel 4-Jahreszeiten/ Hotel Schnookeloch we have 4 single rooms (85 Euros per night incl. breakfast) and 8 double rooms (102 Euros per night incl. breakfast). This arrangement is valid until 5 January, free cancellation up to 24 hrs. before arrival.

All hotels are in the historic center of Heidelberg and close to the bus stop with a line going directly to HITS and the workshop venue.

Shuttle service

There will be a shuttle service from the Old Town Centre of Heidelberg to HITS on both workshop days. More information will follow.
